HER.EYES

Her eyes, they flutter like butterfly wings

Iridescent blues and greens

Dark shadows creeping from her lashes

Escape the room, she holds you captive.

No way out, but through her iris

A gaze, her eyes, they paralyze you

Lost, unconscious, begging mercy

You cannot look away, she’s got you.

Staring out the portal, windows

To her soul, they touch and move you

Fool you, startle you, shine and shake you

Her eyes are clear, a path to walk through.

Finally, she looks away

Your stolen soul breathes its last day

Butterfly is free to fly

Her eyes, they have you,

until

the day

you die.
